I'm saying goodbye to my Blood Sport days, both past and future. I won't be joining this year, along with a number of other people including past competitors, and I am NOT  recommending anyone else to join, unfortunate as that is. The competition has severely gone downhill and I no longer trust its process, biases or decisions. To explain a reason for my distrust, the staff of Blood Sport recently held a meeting where people with 'issues' could add input and remove or keep some admins that weren't trusted to help the competition. This meeting lasted about 3 hours and had around 10 people attending.

We all, including admins, agreed to hold a vote to address the main issue: Choose A, B, or C.

C won with a majority, but despite the majority, the head admin of Blood Sport decided to disregard the majority vote and change the outcome to B instead of C, thus nullifying the 3-hour chat, the vote, and the time and effort of those who showed up.

This was a final straw for more than one person, and proof that control of the competition is unstable and not very trustworthy.

To those who still intend to join Blood Sport, go for it and I sincerely hope you enjoy it and that it works out for you.

To those who feel that this journal is mud-flinging or insulting, please understand I don't post these 'call-out' journals lightly. A journal like this is reserved for art theft, or something that went extremely sour. This is one of those times. This journal is posted due to facts and proof pointing at issues with the biggest OCT of the Invader Zim fandom, and it feels like the 'politics' of the situation shouldn't be kept out of the public's eye.

Hmm...

On the bright side, I also understand that a few people in the fandom are planning to start a new tournament with a fresh beginning and some creative ideas--when that tournament comes to light, I'll be sure to advertise and probably join. X)

Yeah. that was probably the fastest cluster-fuck I have EVER seen. Two days and everything had gone to hell.

I had been debating joining, but wasn't sure due to several things. But I don't think I will be now.
I had been doing my absolute best during the meeting to remain neutral and unbiased so I could gain all sides of the debate. I like to be well informed before making decisions.
Admittedly, after the meeting, and the journal the next morning, along with the other happenings, I can honestly say I was not too impressed.

Which is really too bad. I didn't get very far the first time I had joined and was kind of hoping to try again some time, and maybe try my hand at being on staff at some point. (Judging sounds rather fun, if entering isn't a viable option.)
